Going to the Dr. to Get Some Babies

Irby loves Tylenol, Motrin, and any medicine that tastes like fruit, so his common solution to any problem is that he needs to go to the Dr. because he has a fever, and he needs some medicine. Sometimes his booboo has a fever too, which means he wants some medicine in his mouth and a bandaid on his leg.  Of course, I never give the medicine to him unless he really is sick, but he is always cracking me up with his dramatic antics about needing his meds.
Anyway, he said the most hilarious thing to me the other day.  "Mama, I'm full, I've got some babies" (meaning his stomach is sticking out, he will also say this to anyone in the grocery store who has a belly, pregnant or not..."She has some babies, Mama," kind of embarrassing).  Then he said, "Mama, I need to go to the Dr. and get some babies!"  I guess maybe he's seen a few too many ultrasounds in the past few months, and he is following what is going on more than I give him credit for.  Smart Irby (just got to learn some social rules about calling strangers fat!)
I also forgot to say in my last post that the ultra-sound tech who I saw last time said the babies have a lot of hair!  I was amazed that she could see it, but it really made me feel like we are getting close to meeting our little ones!  I feel like hair on a baby is definitely something associated with a newborn not a baby in-the-womb.  I know it sounds silly, but it made me excited.
And, as you might have guessed from my previous post, we are going to get to meet these babies pretty soon, actually, we are pretty sure it will be tomorrow, Sunday, Sept.27.  A little earlier than we hoped, but all 4 Drs. agree that they may soon reach a point where they will
be safer outside the womb, than inside due to some issues with the blood flow in the umbilical cord which is already manifesting itself in the fact that the babies are measuring small.  The tricky part is that they don't know when it will become just more than measuring small, so they feel it is safest to take the babies tomorrow.  So please keep us in your prayers!  Health for babies, being born at 34.5 weeks (which is a great # for twins, but still), and other things have just got me a little anxious.  I am definitely a planner, but somehow when you have to choose the day and time your baby will be born seems a little weird and unnatural to me, but we are very thankful that the technology is so good that they can see these type of things before major problems arise.  I am also very thankful that they have made it this far and are still inside though!  Please pray with us!  I will be induced at around 1 on Sunday.

And a few pictures of our precious little boy whose world is about to be turned totally upside down, I mean rocked completely!  He's going to do great though, he's pretty excited about being a BIG brother.

Making play-doh, finger painting, making cookies (licking the batter is obviously the highlight), very fun indoor activities, especially if you are very pregnant and trying to think of things to do with your 2 year old that don't involve braving the 95 degree humid DC weather.
Bike ride to Gravelly Point with Daddy for the favorite activity, watching the planes go over about 100 yards above your head.

In front of the rockets at Air and Space Museum.  After Labor Day, it's a great thing to do in the mornings, visit the Smithsonian.  There is basically no one there bc all the tourists are gone! (Don't know why this is underlined...)

Playing at Stanton Park.  I love this picture because it is about the only one I took this summer where he still looks like a little boy.  He's growing up SO fast!
