The Tribe Moves On

Well, it already seems I am proving to be a negligent blogger. Somehow, in a town where I know no one, and have nothing to do, the days fill up! It must be that 1.5 year old boy running around here. Anyway, I have some news...the Thompson family is now moving to DC. After a few years of praying and wondering where we were supposed to be and what we were supposed to be doing, the Lord has called us back to DC. Irby will be continuing his job that he had while we were in AL, which is great, because he really loves it. His company has asked up to relocate to DC because they are opening an office up there, and they need someone to head up the effort. Needless to say, we jumped at the opportunity. Now hopefully, this will be our last move for a while. Ever since we left over 2 years ago, we've been missing it, so this is a very exciting thing for our family. We already have a great church, Grace DC, and wonderful friends, many of whom have had babies since we left. It is very encouraging to know we already have a community to plug in to, especially friends who are in the same stage of life as us and especially in a big city where it's easy to get lost.
Oh, and many of you will be happy to know that when I asked little Irby (as he was dipping his cracker into his blueberry juice) what he thought of moving to DC, he said, "GO DORES!" It's hilarious when he says this because the GO is a very high pitched shrieking sound followed by a low pitched DORES.
Well, that is our news for now...I'm hoping to post some pictures here in the next few days so you can see what we've been up to down here in Alabama.
